THE ARTS
Woodlawn Academy's program of the arts emphasizes the fundamentals of art, music, band, and drama, while encouraging growth and independence. Students
gain confidence in a caring and supportive setting.
Band
Band provides the opportunity to have fun learning how to play various instruments and have a new appreciation of the arts. The Woodlawn Academy Band is comprised of Upper School Students and performs at school functions.
Music
Preschool through fourth grade students participate in music class. Students perform in various school events and community functions such as nursing homes. |
Art
Art serves a unique purpose in the educational development of each child. With various art activities and classes students are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings and to develop their own ideas and methods of problem solving.
Drama
Each year the fourth and eight grade students present a class play. Families, friends, and fellow students are invited to attend these events. An after school drama club meets weekly and allows students from across the grades to further develop their skills with a play production in the spring. |
