LOWER SCHOOL (Grades K-4)
Lower School students at Woodlawn are introduced to a series of fundamental skills which form a solid foundation for their later years of study. The Lower School consists of grades Kindergarten through fourth grade with one class in each grade. Reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies make up the core subjects.

Classes are self-contained, enabling the classroom
teacher to use a variety of instructional approaches. Specialty teachers provide instruction in Spanish, art, music, physical education, and media/computer science.

Students have the opportunity to participate in musical performances throughout the school year. Field trips are often an extension of the classroom learning experience. Community service activities during the year give the students first hand experience in helping others and
being a good citizen.
